On Saturday 20th September our CEO Ruth was joined by 4 of our volunteers Raine, Nigel, Chris and Melusine to run a stall at the annual Family Day that Curo hosted at Mulberry Park Hub. This is an event where all the local residents are invited to come along and find out more about services they can access from Curo and other local organisations.
We were delighted to be able to join in as it was a brilliant opportunity to promote our new locker bank for our Library of Things that we are launching at The Hub in November. The lockers will hold around 30 of our most popular items, allowing people to borrow them from the Hub whenever it is open.
Despite changeable weather our team were able to chat to lots of local people and to promote the benefits of borrowing over buying. The most popular items when people were asked what they would like to borrow were the steam cleaner, the jet wash and the hedge trimmer, plus the chocolate fountain went down very well with the kids! We also had a great make your own bunting activity organised by Raine and her husband Quil, which gave the children the opportunity to create something to take home whilst visiting the fun day.

If you have any questions about how our lockers will operate, or would like to get involved with helping them to run smoothly please email George on LibraryofThings@shareandrepair.org.uk.
