In 2023 Share and Repair started a collaboration with the Reuse Shop in Keynsham. Electrical items that were brought in to be disposed of in the tip would be PAT tested to see if they could be given a new lease of life.
Items that were still working were cleaned up and put for sale in the Reuse Shop, creating a great collaboration and giving many items a new home.
From January 2025 to May, our brilliant volunteers had already PAT tested 1,000 items, saving all of these items from landfill! Due to the success of this collaboration, the Council and Share and Repair jointly decided to double the sessions volunteers spent at the Reuse Shop from once a fortnight to every week.
Just four months later, this impressive feat has been doubled. In September 2025 we reached the milestone of PAT testing over 2,000 items!
