A Gramophone from the 1930s open on a bench, with a book of vinyl records open next to it

Matthew’s Gramophone Repair

Matthew recently brought his Gramophone in to the Share and Repair shop, with a lovely story.

Matthew’s father had bought the Gramophone in the 1930s and it travelled around with him, before being enjoyed by the whole family. Matthew recalled playing records on the Gramophone from his book of records in his youth, before begging his parents to keep up to date! His parents gave in and bought a ‘new fangled Radiogram’, and the Gramophone collected dust in the cupboard.

Many years later, with many new musical technological updates including casette and CD players come and gone, Matthew and his wife Christine found the Gramophone in their house whilst having a clear out. They dusted the Gramophone off and were amazed to find it still worked!

Matthew and Christine brought the Gramophone in to Share and Repair to be refurbished, and we’re very pleased that this Gramophone (that is almost a century old) is back in brilliant condition!
