Julian, Head of Repair at the Open House

Meet Our Head of Repair Operations!

I’m Julian, and I’ve recently joined Share and Repair as Head of Repair Operations. I’ll be looking after our fantastic Repair Cafés, the Redbridge House Repairium, How To Workshops, and a few one-off events along the way.

I’ve spent many years working in the charity sector, with organisations including Emmaus Bristol, Young Lives vs Cancer, St Peter’s Hospice, Shaw Trust, and Sustrans. It’s a real privilege to now be part of such an inspiring and practical organisation focused on sustainability, repair, and community action.

In the short time I’ve been here, I’ve already been blown away by the energy, skill, and dedication of our volunteers. I’m passionate about repair, reuse, and sustainable living, so it’s a joy to be working alongside people who are making a real difference every day. I’ve had the chance to meet quite a few of you already (thank you for being so welcoming). The next challenge is remembering everyone’s names!

I’m really looking forward to getting out and about to all our Repair Cafés and meeting many more of you over the coming weeks and months.

Outside of work, I’m a keen reader, and we’ll be setting up a book exchange at Redbridge House soon to help books find new homes. We’re also hoping to start a casual book club for anyone interested. I also enjoy music, both listening and playing. While I’ve recently put the guitar down, I’ve heard there are a few musicians among us, so who knows, maybe we’ll get a Share and Repair Big Band together for a festive live karaoke session!

If you’ve got any questions about repairs or our Repair Cafés, or just want to say hello, feel free to get in touch julian@shareandrepair.org.uk

Looking forward to meeting more of you soon.
