Argo DevOps Solutions Limited sponsor local deliveries by Share and Repair around Bath
We use a bright orange electric cargo bike, affectionately known as “The Flying Satsuma”, to deliver items from our Library of Things to local residents around Bath. Often Library members struggle to collect the items themselves, or don’t have the time to make it to our Hub, and so the volunteer riders drop their borrows off and collect them on the last day of their loan. As Bath is a hilly place, we restrict deliveries to within 3 miles of our Hub on Lower Bristol Road.
Keeping the cargo bike well maintained and on the road can be expensive for a small charity and so we were delighted when Chris Ferguson from Argo DevOps offered to sponsor it for a year. Chris initially discovered us through the British Computer Society, as we applied for a volunteer with IT skills through their scheme. Chris started volunteering with us and has been integral to helping us to launch our recent project of self service lending lockers at Mulberry Park Hub.
Our Head of Sharing Operations, George Burton said “Chris has been a huge amount of help since he started volunteering with us and we are delighted to be able to formalise our partnership with Argo DevOps to support our bike this year.”
Chris Ferguson from Argo DevOps said “Getting involved with Share and Repair has been incredibly rewarding. What they do for the local community around Bath is genuinely impactful, and the Flying Satsuma is a brilliant example of practical, sustainable action. At Argo DevOps we’re really pleased to support the bike this year and help keep it on the road delivering real value to local residents.”
Watch out for The Flying Satsuma delivering items around Bath!
