Where to dispose of household items?

The Guardian newspaper recently published an article called ‘What do I do with my broken kettle? How to mend, reuse or dispose of 11 everyday items‘ by Sandra Haurant. She regularly writes articles on how to save money, cut down on waste, and encourages second-hand purchases.

This most recent article is full of useful tips on how to mend, reuse, or sustainably dispose of household items you no longer want or use, such as rugs and duvets – and even where to go to replace a missing jigsaw puzzle piece!

We know it can be overwhelming to figure out what to do with household items you no longer need, if you have any household appliances you no longer want, we may be able to take them off your hands. Our HomeKIT Project re-homes unwanted household items including radios, lamps, toasters and more, to people in need.

Learn more about our HomeKIT Project here, and find our wishlist here, where you can check what items we are currently looking for.
