We had an amazing unusual repair in the shop recently! This almost life-sized cast resin pig sadly came through the door in pieces, and was lovingly put back together again by our skilled repairers.
This pig is very similar to King Bladud’s Pigs that you may remember seeing dotted around Bath nearly 10 years ago, and that you may still be able to spot hiding in some secretive spots now. But this pig probably started it’s life outside a butcher’s shop!

The pig now belongs to Roger and it was lovingly repainted by a friend before taking pride of place in their garden. Unfortunately, it was dropped while being carried to a shed for the winter and arrived in our shop missing some of its pieces.
Over a few weeks our repairers were able to put the pig back together using a variety of adhesives and fillers. The owners knew that it was going to need a repaint, so the repairers were able to focus on strength and gap filling rather than worrying about whether the cracks were visible.
The pig is ready to be returned to the owners for a final fill and sanding down before it’s repainted, and retakes it’s place in the garden this spring!

Look at the wonderful job our repairers have done! If you’re ever picking up the pieces of something and need help putting it back together, you know just where to come.
Thanks to Nigel for help with the story!
