Did you know that we run schools workshops?
We understand that educating children means they will develop skills and habits for life, and eventually pass their knowledge on to future generations. This is why we felt it was particularly important to engage children in the repair workshops we run at Share and Repair.
We run a programme of workshops for year 6 primary school children (10/11 year olds) in local schools around Bath, to teach them essential repair skills that will equip them for the rest of their lives!
The programme includes lessons teaching where items come from and where they go when they are disposed of, how valuable a Library of Things is to the local community, and repairing by problem solving. To finish it all off, the groups create an assembly for the whole school based on what they have learned!
One of the participating schools said “It adds to our current curriculum and what we teach about the environment and climate change. The children were very engaged and have a new passion in making changes to help the environment.”
Has your child taken part in one of our workshops?
