On June 15th, we fulfilled a long-held ambition to have a location in the centre of Bath and opened the doors to the Share and Repair Shop on Broad Street.
The shop is the new home for our Library of Things, which has relocated from the Weston Hub. Our small room at the Hub was a great starting point but with interest in sharing growing, we realised we needed bigger premises.
Our plan to open in March coincided with the start of lockdown. Now, with the reopening of shops across England we are very much open for the business of sharing!
Interest in the shop and the idea of sharing was immediate. We have a constant stream of passers-by popping in to find out more and many are borrowing items such as a sander or wallpaper steamer, whilst the mitre saw, carpet cleaner, hedge trimmer, pressure washer and angle grinder are also in the top 10! We also have lots of new stock for DIY, events and more. Search our full list of items here.
To borrow you must be a member and we have updated our membership options. To find out about this and how to support us in this way see below.
Very soon, we’ll start introducing REPAIRS into the shop too. We have screens to protect you and our repairers as well as strict guidelines on sanitisation of products.Repairs will be by appointment only through Eventbrite. Owners must stay with their items whilst being repaired. Appointments will be one hour long. Watch this space…
We’re absolutely delighted to be in the centre of Bath and to continue supporting the community to reduce carbon emissions and waste through sharing and repairing.
