Last week our Founder Lorna and one of our lovely volunteers, John, attended the King’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace!

Share and Repair Bath were invited to attend the Party to recognise our achievement of being awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service last year.
Unfortunately we only had two tickets and couldn’t bring all of our volunteers to celebrate with us! John was the lucky volunteer whose name was picked out of a hat and won the opportunity to attend the Party, which by good luck took place on a beautiful sunny day in May!
Lorna and John were amongst the 7000 guests in attendance at the Garden Party, who enjoyed tea, cakes and sandwiches served in the Garden, accompanied by live music from the King’s brass bands!

Lorna said “It was a magical day, such an honour for Share and Repair to be invited to and represented at this very prestigious event. Amongst the 7000 strong attendees to this truly beautiful oasis, we met a cross section of High Court Judge, retired Coroner of unusual/suspicious deaths, other Chairs of Community Organisations, Private Secretary to the King and assorted clergy! Fascinating!”

And they even managed to get a glimpse of the King!
