Since opening our Library of Things in 2019, we’ve slowly built up our catalogue to have over 900 items available to borrow – and have also lent out so many things to borrowers.
Earlier this year, we lent out our 10,000th item from our Library of Things! This is an amazing result after 6 years – we estimate that it’s saved about £100,000 for the members of our Library of Things.
Our 10,000th loan was lent out to loyal customers Jodie and Matthew, who have used our Library of Things many times since moving back from Australia. They’ve been doing some renovations in their new home and said “it’s been brilliant to be able to borrow what we need from the Library.”

Here’s the family installing a fence in their garden, which they borrowed a garden shredder, mattock and wheelbarrow for – which definitely got some good use for wheelbarrow rides!
Thank you Jodie and Matthew, and thanks to everyone who has ever borrowed from our Library of Things and helped us reach over 10,000 borrows!
We love seeing what you use our items for, send a photo to socialmedia@shareandrepair.org.uk to be featured on our socials and website. And hopefully we will soon have lockers in The Hub Mulberry Park! Check out our campaign for the Big Give’s Green Match Fund Week here.
